The Mayenne group was formed in September 2005 with the aim of bringing together English speaking writers residing within an approximate radius of twenty miles around Le Horps (53) Situated close to the border of Normandy we were also able to welcome new members from the district of l'Orne.
We are now a small friendly mix of absolute beginners through to published writers, meeting monthly at the home of our convener . A topic is set but not necessarily adhered to if the member has a new or old piece he/she would prefer to read, or a piece of poetry, or to share the latest chapter of a novel. Constructive critiques are offered when asked for. A subscription of 1 euro per meeting covers refreshments, stationery and ongoing expenses.
On Line Members is a new  service offered to  those who are too far away to travel to Le Horps monthly.  Members of the on line group email their stories in. These are read at our regular meetings and short critiques emailed back. Eventually we plan to send out Newsletters on a monthly basis. There will be an annual subscription of ten euros for on line members
We are working towards reaching writers in our neighbouring departments with a view to having full day meetings occasionally, to which we may invite a speaker. The venue would be chosen for the convenience of us all.
